So, Thanksgiving is literally just weeks away and it seems to have crept in this year.
With everything that has happened within the past 2 years, this moment of taking the time out to give thanks and to count our blessings, has never been more needed than now.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus, RSV, and the Monkeypox are still lurking around trying to continuously disrupt our daily lives including how we interact and gather around with each other – one of the major acts during Thanksgiving!
But, should we allow that to hinder one of the greatest moments of the year for millions of families all across the nation? I beg to differ.
With proper hygiene and safety measures, gatherings should not be forfeited. May the festivities continue!
Is The Pandemic Still Affecting Your Pockets?
With changes in the economy related to the ramifications of the pandemic and other causes, many may find it challenging to be able to afford a massive Thanksgiving feast.
Fortunately, there are some restaurants that will be open and serving affordable, fresh, hot Thanksgiving meals this year.
Hopefully, these restaurants are local to you. If not, ask around your hometown to see if any of the restaurants near you will be open on Thanksgiving day.
Without further ado, here’s a list of 10 restaurants and caterers that will be open and serving affordable meals on Thanksgiving day.
10 Restaurants Serving Meals On Thanksgiving This Year
1. Cracker Barrel
So, Cracker Barrel does NOT let down when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner! They are open regular business hours on Thanksgiving day and servings begin at 11am with a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
If you don’t want to dine-in, you have the options of choosing from their Hot And Ready Family dinner or their Thanksgiving Heat ‘N Serve Family Dinner which serves up to 4-6 people and is ready to eat within 2 hours of coming out of the oven. They also offer some phenomenal desserts.
2. Boston Market
Not only is Boston Market open on Thanksgiving day, but they also cater! You can pre-order your meals on their site and it’ll be delivered to you – at your door – or “anywhere in the continental U.S.”. All you have to do is order by November 23rd at 11:59pm. Plus, they also have Christmas dinners available for pre-order, too!
3. Golden Corral
At Golden Corral, you’re given the option to choose from a great menu with foods ranging from their signature sirloin steak to chicken, fish, or even sausage. They may not offer an actual traditional Thanksgiving dinner. But, the meals they do offer is sure to appease your taste buds and fill your belly.
You can dine-in at select locations or pickup at curbside.
4. Seasons 52
Seasons 52 is coming through with a full fledge dinner on Thanksgiving day! Seats are $29.95 per adult and $15.00 per child. Their menu this year ranges from their Roasted ‘Never Ever’ Turkey to brioche, pumpkin pie and more. Plus, their Thanksgiving dinner meals are available for pre-order and ready to be served at home to the family.
5. Applebee’s
Last year, Applebee’s served Thanksgiving meals. For this year, I’m not too sure if they’re going to be doing the same. But, definitely hoping so.
If not, they are still a good dining choice for a thanksgiving meal. Their menu ranges from steaks and ribs, chicken, pasta, 2 for $20 deals and more. They also cater.
6. Ruth’s Chris
If you have been to Ruth’s Chris before, then you already know about their lovely steaks. On Thanksgiving Day, you can choose to have their Festive Turkey Feast or your favorite sizzling steak.
Enjoy their “full Thanksgiving turkey dinner package to go for 4 or more”. Check out their site for hours of operation on Thanksgiving day in your state.
7. TGI Friday’s
TGI Friday’s is a staple for many. They are almost always open on major holidays – offering many who opt-out on cooking dinner for Thanksgiving (or in general) a savory feast.
Although they do not serve an actual Thanksgiving dinner meal with the turkey, gravy, and mashed potatoes, their menu is filled with great options including chicken, seafood, pasta, and also plant-based proteins. Verify operating hours at your local restaurant.
8. iHOP
The International House Of Pancakes will also be open on Thanksgiving day. They too, will not serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. But, on their menu, they have a roasted turkey breast meal option that’s topped with gravy. It can be served with your choice of sides and you also have the option to order some delicious pancakes and waffles (if that’s something you’d like as well).
9. Denny’s
Denny’s is another restaurant open to the public on Thanksgiving day. However, they do not serve traditional Thanksgiving dinner meals. Their deluxe dinner classic meals, seafood steaks, and signature slams are sure to fulfill your appetite. Let’s not forget their delicious pancakes and burgers.
10. Souled Out Kitchen
Don’t feel like cooking? Well, ever thought of having personalized chef services? Chef Brad with SouledOut Kitchen provides catering AND personal event meals from breakfast to dinner. He is well-known for his on-site 2-hr cooking soirées for couples (private chef services). Chef Brad resides in Georgia. But, is a traveling chef.
